MSC Information for Non-LPS Students

The Math/Science/Computer Program (MSC) is a Livonia Public Schools magnet program. It provides an appropriately accelerated, integrated curriculum in mathematics, science, and computer science. The MSC Program is housed at Livonia Churchill High School and is open to all students who are residents of the Livonia Public Schools School District. Students who are not residents of the school district and who are not already enrolled in an LPS school are not eligible to apply to the MSC program.

Students must have completed Algebra 1 by the end of their 8thgrade year to be eligible to apply for MSC for 9th grade. MSC mathematics begins with Accelerated Algebra 2. The MSC Program is designed for the academically talented student who also has a high level of interest in math and science.

For more information and to receive an application, any interested non-LPS student residing in the Livonia Public Schools School District may contact Dave Bjorklund, MSC Facilitator, by phone at Churchill High School by email at dbjorklu@livoniapublicschools.org or at 734.744.2650 ext. 46967. Please note that the online MSC application can be used only by LPS students, so it is important that interested non-LPS students contact Mr. Bjorklund to receive information and an application.  Requests must be made by Friday, October 18, 2024.

Applications are not accepted from non-LPS students who reside outside of the Livonia Public Schools School District.

The completed MSC application must be submitted by Thursday, November 14, 2024, and it requires a letter of interest from the student applicant and a recommendation letter from at least one teacher.

MSC applicants must participate in testing on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Non-LPS MSC applicants must also take the 8th grade CogAT test unless they have current CogAT scores to submit. CogAT testing for non-LPS MSC applicants will be scheduled for sometime in January, 2025 once we know how many applicants we have.
