• Regardless of your plan to take an AP exam, all students enrolled in AP courses MUST join the AP classroom for the subject they are taking. Your teacher(s) have specific join codes for the different AP courses. 

AP Exams

• Advanced Placement (AP) Exams are offered to students after completing college level coursework here at Churchill High School.  AP classes are designated with "AP" at the beginning of the course title.  Accelerated classes are not the same as AP classes. Churchill High School will offer AP exams only for classes taught at CHS. 

  AP Exams will be offered at Churchill from May 5th - May 16th, 2025.  The dates and times for each exam can be found HERE.  Please plan to be in school on the day of your exam, as late exams will not be offered.

  2025 AP Exam Registration - Key Dates

  • October 15, 2024 - Registration Begins
  • November 1, 2024 at 2:20 p.m. - Registration Deadline
  • November 14, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. - Exams ordered after this date will incur a $40 late fee
  • March 7, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. - Late Registration Deadline (for 2nd semester exams)
  • March 13, 2025 at 2:20 p.m. - Registrations that have not been paid for will be canceled and exams will not be ordered

  2025 AP Exam Fees

  $110 per exam for Churchill students who register before November 1, 2024 at 2:20 p.m. ($5 is non-refundable)

  Refund/Cancellation Policy

  • Cancelations received by November 14, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. will receive a $105 refund.
  • Cancelations received by March 13, 2025 at 2:20 p.m. will receive a $65 refund.
  • Cancelations received after March 14, 2024 will receive NO refund.
  • Late fees are nonrefundable.

Fee Waivers

• The State of Michigan will use federal and state funding again this year to reduce the exam fee for students who are eligible for a College Board fee reduction.  Any student who qualifies for the free or reduced lunch program is eligible to pay a reduced fee of $10 per AP exam.  When answering this question on the registration form, only answer "yes" if you qualify and have been approved for the free or reduced lunch program.  After you submit your registration, your free or reduced lunch status will be verified and you will then be able to pay for your exams online. However, students who qualify for the reduced AP exam fee are still subject to the full $40 cancellation or late registration fee.

Total Registration

• Total Registration will manage our online AP registration again this year.  During the registration process, students must answer all of the required questions.  Registration is not complete until students have printed the confirmation page that is provided at the end.  We understand that parents may desire to register their students for exams.  We strongly recommend that parents and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered and accurate information is entered.  It is extremely important to fill out information accurately and proofread before submitting your registration.

  Some areas that have caused problems in the past:

  • A student’s legal name should be used.  Also, sometimes the parent has filled out the registration and used his/her name instead of the student’s name.
  • Selecting the correct test is vital.  Test orders are based on the registration; therefore, any mistakes made by the student or parent may result in not having materials available on the day of the exam.  Here are some common mistakes:  

  Calculus AB vs. Calculus BC
  Macroeconomics vs. Microeconomics
  Physics C: Mechanics vs. Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism

  Payment must be made through the Total Registration website via credit or debit card.

SSD Accommodations

• During the registration process, students are asked if they are eligible for College Board accommodations.  A student should only answer “yes” if he/she has been officially approved for accommodations.  Just because a student receives accommodations at school does not mean he/she will automatically receive accommodations for AP testing. To use accommodations on AP exams, students must request and be approved for accommodations by College Board Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) before testing.  The deadline for submitting accommodations requests is January 24, 2025.  Parents should begin that process early in the school year so there are no delays or problems, and so that we can plan for additional testing space and proctors if needed.  Please contact Churchill's SSD Coordinator, Mike Branstrom, at mbranstr@livoniapublicschools.org for more information.

AP Exam Policies & Guidelines

• All AP students deserve a fair and uniform testing experience, whether they are taking the exam in Michigan, California, or China. To make sure this happens, College Board requires exam takers to follow the AP Exam Policies & Guidelines posted on their website.

  On exam day, you will have to sign your answer sheet indicating that you have read and agree to follow all the test security and administration policies and procedures outlined online.  You will also need to sign the covers of your multiple-choice and free-response booklets, affirming statements related to the security of the exam.  It is the student's responsibility to review the AP Exam Terms & Conditions on the College Board website before taking an AP Exam.
