Senior Email the week of 3/18-3/22

Hello, Seniors, Parents, and Guardians!

As we head into Spring Break next week, I just wanted to send a reminder of our senior dates and some added information. There is a lot of information here. Please note the "BAG POLICY" that was sent to us from USA Hockey Arena this week!

Please also note the slight time change with our Senior Marching Practice!

Thanks, and have a great break!

JOSTENS ORDERS: The Jostens rep will be here on Friday, April 5th to pass out the paper items that were ordered in the fall (invitations, save the dates, etc). Students who may owe a balance can pay that at that time. This DOES NOT include caps and gowns. Those are distributed at the Marching Practice on May 24th.

HONORS NIGHT: The Honors Night Ceremony for students who receive a department award, or fall into the categories of Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, or Summa Cum Laude, will take place on Wednesday, May 1st in the Churchill Performing Arts Center. Students who will be participating in this event will receive invites later in the spring.

PROM: Prom is set to take place on Thursday, May 16th at the Laurel Manor in Livonia from 7-11PM. The cost for Prom is $75 and this includes a full, plated meal, ice cream bar, photo booth and DJ. I will be meeting with the seniors on Thursday, April 4th during Charger Time to go over the process for reserving tables (buying tickets). The table reservations will begin on Monday. April 21st and end on Thursday, May 2nd. NO RESERVATIONS will be able to be made after May 2nd.

MARCHING PRACTICE and COMMENCEMENTS: A mandatory marching practice (commencement rehearsal) will take place on FRIDAY. MAY 24th at 8AM (this is a slight change in time). This practice will start in the cafeteria. Upon completion of the marching practice, we will hold a clap-out for our seniors in the hallways to end the school day (half day). The clap-out is for CHS STUDENTS ONLY inside of the building. The clap-out will conclude in the front of the building underneath the archway (weather-permitting).

This year's commencements will take place on June 2nd at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth. The ceremony will begin at NOON. Tickets WILL NOT be required for admission. NEW THIS YEAR: We received a communication from USA Hockey Arena that they now have a NO BAG policy in their arena.

Medical exceptions will be addressed on a case-by-case basis while entering the arena. Patrons requiring necessary items (diaper bags, medical prescriptions, etc.) are subject to a full bag check before entering the seating area.
  • Guests carrying a prohibited bag will NOT be permitted inside the arena. Guests will need to return their bags to their vehicles before entering USA Hockey Arena.
  • Approved Bags & Items Include:
    • Medical Bags
    • Childcare and/or Diaper Bags
    • ADA-specific bags
    • Cell Phones and Pagers
    • Blankets
